SUMMARY:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Contracts Officer to join our team in the shipbuilding industry.
The Contracts Officer will be responsible for managing and overseeing contracts throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, contract negotiation skills, and an understanding of shipbuilding processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare, review, and manage contracts related to shipbuilding projects, including construction, procurement, and supply agreements.
• Work closely with project managers, legal teams, and stakeholders to ensure contract terms are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Negotiate and finalize contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards, including those specific to the maritime and shipbuilding sectors.
• Monitor and manage contract performance, including risk identification, mitigation, and ensuring adherence to agreed terms.
• Provide guidance and advice on contractual matters to internal teams and stakeholders.
• Coordinate with legal counsel to resolve any contractual disputes or claims.
• Maintain accurate and organized records of contracts, amendments, and correspondence.
• Prepare reports on contract status, potential risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Assist in the tender process, including contract formation, bid evaluations, and compliance checks.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Law, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Contracts Officer, Contract Manager, or in a similar role, preferably in the shipbuilding or maritime industry.
• In-depth knowledge of shipbuilding contracts, procurement processes, and the legal framework surrounding construction and engineering contracts.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to identify and resolve contract-related issues efficiently.
• Familiarity with Singapore’s maritime laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office and contract management software.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
