CAREER OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Finance Manager/Deputy Finance Director to lead and elevate our finance function. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the financial operations of the organization, drive long-term financial planning, and provide strategic insights to support sustainable growth.

Reporting directly to the CEO, and partnering closely with cross-functional business leaders, you will take full ownership of budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and operational excellence. You will lead the finance team, ensure strong financial controls, and align financial strategy with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Develop, implement, and manage dynamic financial budgets and rolling forecasts that align with strategic objectives.
  • Business Planning: Lead business planning processes, including scenario analysis, to support informed decision-making and growth strategies.
  • Strategic Projections: Deliver comprehensive financial projections, ensuring accuracy and identifying risks and opportunities for long-term planning.
  • Stakeholder Reporting: Present detailed financial reports and insights to the CEO, executive team, and Board of Directors.
  • Capital Allocation: Evaluate and recommend optimal capital allocation strategies to maximize returns and operational efficiency.

Operational Finance Excellence

  • Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow forecasting, optimize working capital, and ensure the organization maintains liquidity while achieving financial objectives.
  • Cost Optimization: Identify and implement strategies to streamline operations and reduce costs without compromising quality or growth.
  • Grant & Subsidy Management: Oversee and manage grant applications, tracking, and reporting to ensure compliance and maximize funding opportunities.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards.

Accounting & Financial Controls

  • Process Management: Oversee all accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP/IFRS standards.
  • Internal Controls: Strengthen internal control systems to safeguard assets and minimize risks.
  • Technology Integration: Drive the adoption of financial technologies, including ERP systems and BI tools (e.g., Power BI), to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Audit & Taxation: Manage relationships with auditors, tax agents, and external consultants to ensure smooth audits and accurate filings.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with operations, marketing, and business unit heads to align financial strategies with organizational priorities.
  • External Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with bankers, investors, and regulators to support organizational objectives.
  • Crisis Management: Lead financial contingency planning and risk mitigation strategies during periods of uncertainty or economic fluctuation.

Pre-Requisites

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA, CA, or CFA designation strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10 years in financial management, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity. Experience in retail or a similar fast-paced industry and/or Big4 audit background is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and projections.
  • Expertise in ERP systems, accounting software, and business intelligence tools (e.g., MS Power BI).
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams while managing complex financial operations.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with grants, compliance frameworks, and government reporting requirements.
