This role is pivotal in defining and executing procurement strategies for assigned category, focusing on cost optimisation, supplier performance, and process enhancement.Strategic Procurement:
- Develop and implement category-specific procurement strategies to optimise cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Identify opportunities for consolidation under strategic buys to enhance procurement efficiencies.
- Lead RFx procurement and ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures.
- Lead the preparation of procurement reports, ensuring transparency in procurement activities and oversees approval process to ensure proper documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for users, addressing any queries related to the assigned category and providing guidance on procurement processes, strategies, and supplier-related matters.
- Develop analytical insights by monitoring relevant market trends, technological advancement and regulatory developments.
- Identify supply risk areas and implement mitigation plans proactively.
- Build and maintain a robust supplier network, fostering strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
- Manage supplier performance through regular reviews, ensuring alignment with sustainability and other performance indicators.
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.
- Administer contract lifecycle activities, including renewals, amendments, and terminations.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, sourcing and supplier management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Prior experience with government procurement processes is a bonus
- Demonstrate expertise in contracting principles, coupled with strong business acumen and capability to draft requirement specifications with limited supervision.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive, self-starter mindset while managing tight timeline.
- Proficient in desktop applications such as Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
