Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the diversion, relocation, and protection of utilities such as water pipes, sewer lines, gas pipelines, power cables, and telecommunication networks within LTA high-rise building projects.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and impact assessments to ensure the best approach for utility diversion while maintaining uninterrupted service.
- Coordinate with contractors and internal teams to ensure timely execution of utility works in alignment with the overall construction schedule.
- Act as the main point of contact between the project team and government agencies (e.g., LTA, PUB, SP Group, IMDA, NEA) to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Ensure strict adherence to relevant code requirements, including underground and overhead utility installation standards, safety clearances, and service protection guidelines.
- Work closely with local councils, town planners, and public stakeholders to manage potential disruptions and develop mitigation plans.
- Prepare and submit technical reports, method statements, and risk assessments for review and approval by the respective authorities.
- Utilize AutoCAD, REVIT, and NAVISWORK to perform clash detection and 3D modeling of utilities to structural and architectural elements.
- Review utility plans and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, including civil, structural, and M&E engineers, to resolve design conflicts before construction begins.
- Develop and implement utility relocation strategies that minimize disruptions to existing infrastructure and services.
- Ensure all utility works comply with LTA environmental guidelines, NEA environmental protection laws, and safety regulations.
- Implement risk assessment measures to prevent accidents, contamination, or structural instability caused by utility works.
- Develop emergency response plans for utility-related incidents such as water leaks, electrical faults, or gas leaks to safeguard workers and the public
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in utility works diversion and service maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of code requirements for various utility services and their environmental impact.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT, and NAVISWORK is essential.
- Ability to work effectively with regulatory bodies and stakeholders to ensure a smooth project
