You will help to build and sustain strong technology foundations forming the bedrock of GIC’s digital solutions.What will you do as an AVP, Infrastructure Engineer (Networks/Cloud Networks)?Design and Implementation:
  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable and secure network architectures in AWS.
  • Implement and manage AWS networking services such as VPC, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Route 53, and AWS WAF.
  • Integrate on-premises network infrastructure and vendor specific solutions such as Bluecoat ProxySG and Checkpoint Firewalls with AWS cloud environments.
Network Management:
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, both in the cloud and on-premises.
  • Implement network security best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and security groups.
Logging, Alerts, and Monitoring:
  • Configure and manage AWS CloudWatch for logging, metrics, and alarms.
  • Utilize AWS CloudTrail for auditing and monitoring API calls.
  • Implement AWS Config to assess, audit, and evaluate the configurations of AWS resources.
  • Set up and manage AWS GuardDuty for continuous security monitoring and threat detection.
Automation and Optimization:
  • Develop and maintain network automation scripts and tools using AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and GitHub CI/CD.
  • Continuously evaluate and implement new AWS services and features to improve network efficiency and security.
Collaboration and Support:
  • Work closely with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure seamless integration and operation of network services.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors and service providers to support network infrastructure.
Documentation and Compliance:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of core networking experience, including routing, switching, and firewall management. Proficiency in network protocols and technologies such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VPN, and DNS.Extensive experience with AWS networking services and architecture, familarity with network security principles and best practices.Proven experience in designing and managing hybrid cloud environments.Experience with AWS logging, alerts, and monitoring services. Proficiency in AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, Config, and GuardDuty for logging, alerts, and monitoring.Experience with Terraform and GitHub CI/CD for provisioning services and deploymentAWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional is highly desirable. Relevant networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are a plus.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Work at the Point of Impact
