Position Title: Project Engineer

Our client is a leading Switzerland-based MNC comprising three divisions: Piping Systems, Casting Solutions, and Machining Solutions. They are currently seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical support, trainings and professional advice to ensure Successful Projects kickoff until final commissioning.

Responsibilities

Project planning & site execution duties

  • Support project sales in planning and execution of major projects.
  • Participate in pre-sales/kickoff project meetings and provide relevant information required to ensure a strong start to all projects.
  • Be the key contact engineer for project related issues and provide required solutions to keep the project on schedule.
  • Main coordinator for GF staff and ensure that effective communication exists among the various divisions or staff involved in projects, as well as ensure resource allocation is effective, efficient and sufficient to complete the project.
  • Conduct site inspections and provide regular updates to project members on progress. Coordinate needed internal resources to resolve issues timely.
  • Gatekeeper for GF quality. Report on quality issues and ensure correct installation methods of contractors on-site. → make sure the pipe is wielded properly
  • Project tools and machine management. Regular checks and summary on conditions. Monitor Project machine status to ensure its availability and all are in good condition and calibrated.
  • Project materials availability and planning. Consistent review of materials consumption levels and report in on requirements regularly. Coordinate delivery requirements with internal operations and CS team.
  • SAP claims management system with timely and proper report to customers and ensures the cases are closed. Number of claims raised vs closed by the end of the year. Ensuring all tasks and claims are managed within expected timeframes
  • Perform calibration and troubleshooting of flow instruments and valves. Work closely with the sales team identifying service / replacement / upgrade.

  • Technical duties assignable by supervisor:
  • Manage test certification/approval
  • Project fabrication/assembly/installation works
  • Inventory review
  • Ad-hoc assignments
  • Review and ensure all safety guidelines in the office are adhered to accordingly.
  • Identify and rectify any safety breaches.Support in execution of safety improvement plans.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Semicon subcon or construction site experience
  • Good knowledge in piping systems and instruments.
  • BCSS , working at height certificate
  • Strong experience in AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
