About our group:Seagate Research Group conducts research to transform Seagate's considerable technical expertise, innovation, and manufacturing excellence to develop innovative technologies for the rapidly growing datasphere.Data Storage and Memory Devices research explore novel data storage technology at device and systems level and create proof-of-concept (PoC) for the fast-growing datasphere and further exploring device innovations at micro/nano scale that leverage Seagate core competencies.About the role - you will:As an Electronics Embedded Engineering Intern with Seagate Research Group, you'll have the unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of electronic system design and development. This role is designed to offer a hands-on experience in the entire product development lifecycle, from the initial concept and design phases to prototyping, testing, and final deployment.Collaborate with our engineering team to design and develop sophisticated electronic systems and components.Engage in the full cycle of product development, starting from ideation, through design, prototyping, testing, to deployment.Create and refine firmware for microcontrollers, including conducting rigorous debugging and testing.Develop embedded software applications using programming languages such as C and Python.Contribute to hardware design, testing, and debugging processes.Utilize schematic capture and PCB layout tools for designing and creating printed circuit boards (PCBs).Actively participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback on hardware and software designs.Work in collaboration with various teams to integrate electronic and software components into larger systems.Stay abreast of the latest developments in electronics and embedded systems, aligning with industry trends.About you:We're looking for someone who is:Collaborative and enjoys working as part of a dynamic team.Interested in participating in the entire product development cycle.Keen on developing technical skills in firmware, embedded systems, and software applications.Eager to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, innovative environment.Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.Able to commit full time semester internship (May/Jul - Dec)Your experience includes:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.A solid foundation in electrical engineering principles.Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, embedded systems, and firmware development.Proficiency in programming languages such as C and Python.Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB layout tools is preferred.Understanding of both analog and digital circuit design and testing methodologies.Exceptional problem-solving and debugging abilities.Location:The Shugart site (named after Seagate's founder, Al Shugart) is a research and design center. Easily accessible from the One-North MRT Station, many employees choose to take mass transportation to work.
