Group Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In Group T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Lead to join our dynamic Domestic Payments and Services team. This crucial role will involve leading a team responsible for the seamless operation of various domestic digital payment channels, ensuring efficient transaction processing, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of domestic payment systems, particularly EFTPOS (NETS), and a passion for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team responsible for the daily operations of EFTPOS transactions and settlements, bill payment refunds, fund transfers, and PayLah! support.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
  • Manage service requests, ensuring adherence to service level agreements (SLAs) and promptly addressing exceptions or issues.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, enhancing the resilience of payment processing systems. Address and resolve control gaps.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all operational processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance the customer experience.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Banking or a related field with proven experience in domestic payments operations, and a strong understanding of EFTPOS (NETS) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Experience in managing a team is highly preferred.
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Knowledge of other domestic payment systems.
