At Fabrica AI, we’re creating a future where robot development takes days, not years. We believe the key lies in training end-to-end controls in simulation using reinforcement learning, and iterating hardware designs simultaneously. This allows us to automate the entire development process, bringing your robotic visions to life faster than ever before.

Our journey began with a bold vision: to transform the construction industry through robotics. To achieve this, we developed Fabricator, an innovative design automation platform. This revolutionary technology empowered us to create an automatic tile grouting robot that delivers a 5x productivity boost. This patented solution, currently being deployed at leading construction companies like Woh Hup, BHCC, and others, exemplifies the transformative power of our approach.

Our groundbreaking approach has not only captured the imagination of the robotics world, but also garnered the trust of industry leaders. We've secured over 3 million USD in funding from prestigious investors like Hoxton Ventures, Credo Ventures, and prominent figures like our professor from Cambridge University and construction giants like Woh Hup. This strong backing fuels our mission and validates the transformative potential of our technology.

We also have an international presence, with our own offices in both Singapore and Czech Republic, as well as partners and advisors from the United States, Switzerland, China, and the UK.

Help us take our grouting robot from a TRL 7 to 9. Gain invaluable experience and shape your internship at Fabrica AI! We're looking for interns with skills in (you don’t have to be proficient in all):

  1. Software Engineering
    1. Design and implement firmware algorithms for embedded systems
    2. Integrate drivers and APIs for effective hardware control
    3. Implement standard communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI) for seamless interoperability
    4. Automate tests for hardware assembly
  2. Data collection and analysis
    1. Manually collecting and labelling data
    2. Automating the process of collecting and labelling data
    3. Pre-processing data
    4. Data analysis
  3. Control systems engineering
    1. Iterative adjusting of parameters to optimise performance of motors
    2. Conducting experiments to test control systems
  4. Hardware and Software integration
    1. Develop and execute automated tests for efficient hardware assembly and validation
  5. Debugging
    1. Diagnosing hardware and software issues within various electronic devices
    2. Implementing solutions and features to fix bugs

A great candidate would possess the following:

  • Experience with C++ and Python programming languages
  • Experience with software design principles and CI/CD
  • Experience with microcontroller programming, ROS, linux
  • Experience with electronics is a plus
  • High computer mana - good at debugging and getting things to work
  • Ability to adapt to change and work without a very well defined job scope
  • Excited about robotics and similar technical areas

As an SGInnovate partner company, we offer competitive compensation, including a monthly stipend of S$3000 for undergraduates (higher for Masters/PhD students) under the SGI Summation program.

Our development process is highly iterative and agile, allowing you to significantly contribute to bringing our robots to the market. Ready to tackle exciting challenges and contribute to the future of construction robotics? Apply now at [email protected]!
