Job Description
This role works alongside the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and leads the Investment Business Management Function in providing a wide range of business, process and project support to the investment teams. The role acts as a conduit between the CIO, Heads of Investment and other teams, departments and Local Business Units (LBUs) across the region.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide support to the CIO on the review of the investment decision making process, investment platform and governance of the processes and the platform.
- Provide support to the CIO in leading investment related projects including performance related, LBU related, potential M&A, operating model review and/or restructure.
- Orchestrating and providing leadership to strategic initiatives on behalf of the CIO including product development, business case development and project management.
- Assist and drive the strategic business initiatives as directed by the CIO.
- Liaise with the various investment teams on performance, process monitoring and improvements, etc.
- Take the lead and drive cross functional and cross LBU projects related to the Investment Teams.
- Conduct business impact analysis on new and altered processes including process re-design and re-engineering.
- Create presentations with support on the CIO's vision, plan for the investment groups, including confidential information.
- Support investigation into potential trade or investment issues, client requests etc.
- Assist in developing ideas and putting plans in place to bring the Investment group together such as common investment forums, off sites etc.
- Manage the investment business management unit to drive strategic outcomes for the investment teams supported.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- The ideal candidate should have at least 15 years of relevant experience in front office or investment functions (eg portfolio construction, risk etc)
- Familiarity with investment processes, investment decision making process and governance.
- Detail orientated with excellent inter-personal and written and oral communication skills.
- A good Graduate/ Post-Graduate/Honors degree in Finance/ Economics/ Econometrics/ Mathematics. CFA is desirable though not essential
- Prefer someone with 2-5 years of experience in a managerial role.
