The Division of Physics & Applied Physics in the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences of NTU provides a multidisciplinary academic program that provides students with a wide-ranging and up-to-date education. Details of the Division can be found at s.

This hiring aims to strengthen the division’s research activity in Photonics, Nanophotonics or related areas. We are looking for a future leader in these disciplines who is willing to foster the interaction between physicists, materials scientists, and engineers at NTU through the development of ambitious research programs.

The candidates are expected to:

· Establish a world-class research program,

· Enhance the School’s visibility as an international leader in education and research

· Teach undergraduate and graduate courses

· Actively collaborate with NTU faculty and researchers

· Forster academic/industrial collaborations in Singapore

Responsibilities:

· Conduct high-quality innovative research in terms of publishing top-tier papers

· Giving invited talks at international conferences, securing competitive research grants, and supervising research personnel

· Contribute to teaching and course development at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels

· Giving academic supervision of undergraduate and graduate students

· Undertake administrative and/or leadership roles

· Contribute to other service-related activities assigned by the School and University

Requirements:

· PhD in physics, materials science or a related discipline

· Strong record of research and relevant publications in reputable peer-reviewed international journals

· A good track record of securing research grants

· A good track record of supervising students, and interns in relevant fields

· Experienced in cross-disciplinary research initiatives and collaboration
