What the Role Entails

Position Overview
We are seeking a self-driven and innovative Foreign Exchange System Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical systems that integrate with global banks, financial institutions, and payment networks. In this role, you will build scalable solutions for foreign exchange (FX), payment processing, and billing, ensuring compliance with international financial standards. You will play a key role in enabling seamless cross-border transactions through advanced technical architecture and secure financial integrations.
  • System Design & Development: Architect and develop high-performance, scalable systems for cross-border payments, FX transactions, and billing integration with financial institutions.
  • Payment Network Integration: Design and implement low-latency integrations with global payment networks such as SWIFT, SEPA, and FAST, ensuring security, compliance, and seamless transaction processing.
  • Forex System Development: Integrate with global banks for real-time FX rate streaming and trade execution, developing solutions for pricing feeds, transaction validation, and reconciliation workflows.
  • API & Protocol Design: Develop efficient, scalable APIs for payment gateways and FX execution platforms, optimizing transaction flows across financial ecosystems.
  • Domain-Driven Design (DDD): Model complex FX and multi-currency payment workflows, including FX execution, settlement, and multi-currency billing, using DDD principles.
  • Collaboration & Compliance: Work closely with product, compliance, and operations teams to align technical solutions with regulatory and business objectives.

Who We Look For

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in payment systems development, financial integrations, and direct involvement with global payment networks such as SWIFT, SEPA, or FAST.
  • Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Java, and microservices architecture, with hands-on experience in low-latency programming, performance tuning (JVM optimization, garbage collection), and distributed systems.
  • Proven experience integrating with banks' APIs for real-time FX rate streaming, trade execution, and transaction validation, ensuring accuracy in pricing feeds and reconciliation workflows.
  • Deep understanding of global payment protocols and financial messaging standards (e.g., SWIFT MT/MX, SEPA SCT/SDD, FAST JSON APIs) and proficiency in handling payment message formats (XML, JSON, CSV).
  • Self-driven with a strong sense of ownership over end-to-end technical projects, demonstrating problem-solving abilities and an innovative approach to cross-border payment challenges.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with fluency in both English and Chinese Mandarin to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders across international markets.
