Senior Principal Regional Application Engineer
About the role
Based on detailed application-product expertise and technical excellence, the Regional (Power Product) Application Engineer provides in-depth technical customer support for Power Semiconductors / WBG product portfolio (e.g. SiC, GaN / IGBT and Power Modules). Via technical collateral creation, the RAE supports design-in activities (at defined customers, market segments, with distribution partners, etc) as well as running business for our Marketing Focus Portfolio. The role actively contributes to build up a future proof product portfolio by capturing key application requirements and trends as well as through in-application validation of new products.
What you will do
Visit customers and provide technical training and/or design-in support with business development spirit
Contribute to reference designs based on application knowledge and customer input
Provide customer input into technology capability roadmap
Producing or adapting application notes and articles for publication
Create regional-specific demos and marketing-support hardware
Develop in depth technical understanding of our products and datasheet parameters
Support quality with application guidance & circuit analysis, travel will be necessary
Competitor technical product analysis, e.g., evaluate and report on in-circuit performance of competitor devices relative to our own products (e.g. benchmarking)
What you will need
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering in an (power) electronics or physics related subject
At least 5 years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with strong and deep Power System knowledge e.g. in Power Supplies, Server Power, Solar and Automotive (OBC, IVT etc.) to support our customers
A deep technical understanding from the customers’ application down to the product features and product & packaging development process. Must have ability to perform lab characterization & problem solving
Very good written & spoken English
Convincing communication and presentation skills to work successfully with internal and external stakeholders in an international environment
High self-motivation and desire to walk the extra mile for business creation and business success
Able to work independently in close connection with our AMEC Sales team and the international colleagues
