Job Summary:

The General Worker with a focus on handyman and electrical tasks assists in the renovation and maintenance of residential or commercial properties. This role requires the ability to perform general repairs, install basic electrical fixtures, and assist with a variety of handyman duties on the job site, ensuring the work is done safely and according to specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handyman Work:

  • General Maintenance and Repairs: Perform light carpentry, plumbing, painting, and drywall repairs.

  • Installation Tasks: Install or replace fixtures, fittings, doors, windows, hardware, and other elements in renovations or repairs.

  • Basic Flooring & Tiling: Assist with installing or repairing tiles, hardwood floors, and other surface finishes.

  • Furniture Assembly: Help with assembling furniture or other structures when needed.

  • Small Carpentry Jobs: Build or repair shelves, cabinets, or wooden structures on site.

  • Painting & Finishing: Sand, paint, or apply finishing treatments to walls, ceilings, or other surfaces.

2. Basic Electrical Work (Under Supervision, If Required):

  • Electrical Fixture Installation: Assist with the installation of light fixtures, outlets, switches, and ceiling fans.

  • Wiring Assistance: Help run and connect wiring for lighting and small appliances under the guidance of a licensed electrician.

  • Basic Electrical Troubleshooting: Conduct basic troubleshooting of electrical circuits (e.g., replacing fuses, resetting breakers) under supervision.

  • Install Electrical Components: Assist in installing electrical components such as circuit breakers or electrical panels, when instructed by a qualified electrician.

Working Conditions:

  • Hours: Full-time, may include overtime or weekend work depending on the project.

  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift heavy materials and work for extended hours, sometimes in awkward positions.
