Senior Copywriter

Maker Lab supports clients across technology, entertainment, financial services and the payments industry. We’re looking for dynamic individuals to join our team and support our amazing clients in the e-commerce industry.

As a Senior Copywriter, you will join the regional team in conceptualising and executing competitive campaigns that align with the client’s brand objectives. You will bring ideas to life with bold message and copy direction, and work collaboratively with internal and external teams, extending into viral activations that resonate across the region.

Role:

  • Develop copy and maintain voice across a wide range of deliverables, including print and digital ad campaigns,online video scripts, campaign headlines, outdoor activation, and campaign communication assets, etc.
  • Conceptualise bold, culturally relevant campaigns with a clear understanding of business objectives, translating into creative copy.
  • Work with regional brand and creative development teams — as well as other stakeholders — to translate our brand proposition into a cohesive and impactful voice
  • Write engaging marketing emails, including for global campaigns, events and newsletters.
  • Create multi-market campaign concept tailored to regional audiences, ensuring consistency and alignment across markets.
  • Present to senior leadership, providing rationale for copy, concept, and campaign strategy.
  • Collaborate with film, animation, photography, and music production houses to ensure seamless execution from concept to delivery.
  • Participate in brand development creative strategy meetings and weekly creative reviews, and partner with branding, social, and media teams to maximize the creative potential and align with business objectives.
  • Evaluate trends, assess new data and keep up-to-date with the latest cultural movements, industry trends, and viral moments to keep the brand relevant, ensuring resonates with diverse audiences.

You:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8+ years of copywriting experience, with prior experience and a proven track record in digital content strategy within an agency or in-house creative teams. Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to make complex concepts relatable and easily understandable for any audience; translating technical offerings into human terms is a big part of the job, and your ability to do that will be paramount to your success in this role
  • Experience conceiving across a multitude of digital channels, including display, video, and audio
  • Ability to work autonomously with a self-starter attitude in a start-up-like environment.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and constantly evolving matrix organisation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication and presentation skills, and ideally, fluency in another Asian language to support projects spanning APAC.
