Are you a professional engineer looking for a leadership role that offers strategic direction and ensures quality and compliance standards? We are seeking an Engineering Project Director to join our Global Engineering and Real Estate organisation (GERE) and lead the delivery of our new manufacturing facility in Singapore.

As a valued member of the GERE team we’ll expect you to provide support and ownership of the GERE programme budgets and lead teams which will support the delivery of this campus development. This will include the opportunity to lead initiatives and deliver results that are multi-functional and impact the broader business. This in turn will demonstrate enterprise level thought processes to provide full benefit to AZ.

This is a flagship investment for AstraZeneca in a new location for our manufacturing organisation. The Engineering Project Director will be expected to be able to communicate effectively at the most senior levels within AZ and also with the relevant authorities in Singapore.

Accountabilities:

As the Engineering Project Director, you will set strategic direction for very large projects or programmes managed and provide an engineering perspective in broader AstraZeneca strategic planning activity.

You will lead and provide the senior corporate expertise for your area of responsibility, helping define the AstraZeneca Group's agenda in a specific area of specialisation.

You will define standards and metrics to monitor and review performance in your area of responsibility and make appropriate interventions.

You will ensure that systems and specialist expertise is available, cost effectively, to support the Company's global activities.

You will provide functional governance for your area of responsibility in AstraZeneca, represent AstraZeneca publicly in matters pertaining to your area of responsibility, and proactively influence stakeholders regarding the company’s reputation in that area.

Acting as process owner for processes in your organisation we'll need you to ensure that global processes are locally implemented. You will also act as sponsor and owner for global networks within the specialist area.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience

  • Proven leadership experience with very large scale Engineering capital project delivery (>US$1BN)

  • Full and detailed knowledge of relevant Safety, Health & Environment legislation

  • Capability of developing and implementing business strategy

  • Project and organisational change skills

  • Stakeholder engagement and communication at senior levels

  • Global experience (ideally in Singapore)

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Post-graduate engineering qualification or professional accreditation

  • Experience with delivering Pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities to global GMP standards
