Functions:
• Solve product challenges with a clear definition of objectives, testing protocols and expectation of outcomes. Maintain accurate, complete records of experiments in reports, as well as samples of raw materials to inventory and other ad-hoc duties and general lab housekeeping that includes all equipment and maintenance.
• Manage technical projects to explore, scope and develop new formulations and applications for use in either food, pharmaceutical, personal care/cosmetics industries.
• Build relevant formulation & application knowledge on the use of emulsifiers (eg. sucrose esters in novel product formats and hands-on production of Formulations & Emulsions.
• Hands on spirit to source & procuring of raw materials and build up applications intelligence with various ingredients and additives.
• Support all technical and quality process in the QA lab during the periodic production shifts & schedules opening to a wider scale of learnings that can include internship management and other ad-hoc activities.
• Familiar with laboratory set up and actively contribute novel ideas to the R&D efforts.
Knowledge, Skills and Requirements:
• Minimum a diploma and/or degree from a Science background, preference in chemistry background and some emulsions experience will be a big plus.
• Highly familiar with cosmetics/pharma ingredients and experience in formulations of ingredients, additives, premixes and emulsions, can also apply. At least some experience in application related to flavor / color / bioactive ingredients. Exposure to food ingredients / additives sourcing to purchasing experiences will be an advantage.
• Strong in IT skills like Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Access. Having web design /maintenance skills will be a big plus, however, not essential for the role.
• Will require interactions with internal and external facing and at least bilingual in spoken and written in English and Mandarin and/or another language and a strong drive and self-motivation and ability to learn in a fast pace working environment.
