We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive sales growth in the logistics and freight forwarding industry. This is a 100% hunter role, focusing on acquiring new business and expanding market share through strong client relationships.
Details:
• Basic Salary: Up to $9,000, with additional commission based on performance.
• Transport Allowance: $1,100 for candidates using own vehicle.
• Role Type: Sole Contributor – fully focused on business development.
Responsibilities
• Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with the company’s trade lanes, capabilities, and business goals to meet or exceed assigned targets.
• Identify new customer opportunities and drive strong pipeline development with a clear opportunity win plan.
• Build and manage relationships with key customer contacts, fostering long-term partnerships and trust.
• Work with internal stakeholders to develop competitive differentiators and specialized solutions to enhance customer acquisition and retention.
• Maintain optimal sales volume, product mix, and pricing strategies based on market trends and competitive analysis.
• Oversee coordination between sales, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless execution of customer requirements.
• Draft and review SOPs for newly acquired customers to ensure operational alignment.
• Act as the primary point of contact for service-related escalations, ensuring prompt resolution.
• Keep sales activities updated in Salesforce and provide timely reports to senior management.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to develop effective customer engagement materials and strategies.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business, or a related field.
• About 6 to 8 years of sales experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain solutions.
• Proven track record in business development and strategic account management.
• Strong market knowledge in freight forwarding, supply chain solutions, and industry vertical specializations.
• Experience working in a MNC environment.
• Excellent business acumen, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and drive profitable revenue from multiple accounts.
• Strong leadership and motivation skills.
• Candidates with an existing book of business or a strong industry network are highly preferred.
• Possession of a personal vehicle and willingness to travel for client meetings is an advantage.
