The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU Singapore hosts research and education activities in two divisions: Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) and Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP). MAS covers diverse topics ranging from pure mathematics to the applications of mathematics in cryptography, computing, business, and finance. PAP covers many areas of fundamental and applied physics, including quantum information, condensed matter physics, biophysics, and photonics. Over the years, SPMS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.
Join the laboratory of Dr Koh Teck Seng at SPMS. We are seeking a motivated Research Fellow with an excellent track record to contribute to a project focused on understanding quantum foundations from a quantum information science perspective. The successful candidate is one who comes with a clear sense of the open questions in this broad direction and can articulate specific research objectives into a coherent, overarching goal.
Key Responsibilities:
The candidate is expected to be self-directed and lead the research project with clearly articulated scientific milestones
The candidate will be productive in research manuscript writing
Job Requirements:
The candidate should have a PhD degree in Physics or a related field or is on-track to graduating with a PhD at the point of application
Relevant research experiences during PhD or previous postdoctoral stint (if any) in the research field
Familiarity with theoretical background in the field of quantum foundations, or related fields
Good written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in analytical and computational skills
Competent in soft skills of mentoring junior research students
Good interpersonal skills and ability to work independently
