Senior Vice President, Health / Medical Asia
What can you expect:
- As a start up role, the successful candidate will be responsible for setting strategy, building out a service team, enhancing our brand through thought leadership and market presence and developing innovative risk capital strategies across the health / medical insurance value chain throughout South-East Asia, Hong Kong and Korea. This will include leadership of the Asia-Pacific Health Centre of Excellence
- This role will be primarily responsible for a mix of business development, account management and broking, providing quality advice and service to clients on their reinsurance cession of health / medical reinsurance business, partnering with the sales team to grow the business and participate in all stages of solution delivery.
- This role will lead the health / medical specialty team to execute its strategy and achieve its operational goals.
POSITION SCOPE
We will count on you to:
- Take full ownership of new business development, account management, and broking, providing high-quality advice and service to clients on their reinsurance cession of health / medical reinsurance business.
- Lead business development initiatives to create winning client strategies for health / medical (re)insurance across Asia.
- Establish the market leading healthcare practice in Asia by developing Guy Carpenter’s health/ medical brand in the region through thought leadership, strong reinsurer relationships and superior client management skills demonstrated through client proposals, pre and post renewal presentations, market submissions and execution.
- Work with the broader client management teams to create and execute business strategies to build and enhance capabilities / tools to clients and proposals.
- Prepare and deliver pre and post renewal presentations and provide other advisory service as required.
- Establish Centre of Excellence for Healthcare. Collect and compile market information, pre and post renewal insurance and reinsurance market status and other healthcare market information.
- Develop and lead reinsurers’ relationship for healthcare business.
- Provide training for clients and colleagues.
- Assist and accompany client visits with reinsurers.
- Handle any other projects as assigned by the management.
What you need to have:
- A minimum of 10 years’ solid experience in the health / medical insurance / reinsurance sector.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as insurance, risk management, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in developing and managing sales and driving new business development.
- Strong commercial and numerical acumen, with the ability to build strategies and demonstrate thought leadership.
- Customer-focused with strong sales drive. Self-motivated and excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong client orientation mindset with a proven track record in delivering exceptional service to clients.
- Proven ability to manage and network in a multicultural environment. Strong gravitas and presence to influence and build collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Proficiency in an additional Asian language would be advantageous.
- Proficient MS office skills. Able to leverage a range of digital tools and technology to its maximum potential.
