The Cook supports the kitchen team by preparing meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensures efficiency in daily food preparation and maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

SUMMARY OF ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES



Reporting directly to the Senior Cook, the responsibilities and essential job functions of the Cook are to include but are not limited to the following:


Assisting Senior cook to accurately preparing dishes, maintaining consistency in taste and presentation.



Maintain cleanliness in workstations. Keep food preparation areas clean and organized, adhering to hygiene protocols.



Follow portioning and dietary requirements: Ensure meals meet the specified portion sizes and dietary guidelines for patients.



Assist in stock management. Report any shortages or required replenishments to senior kitchen staff.



Collaborate with team members: Work closely with other kitchen staff to support smooth operations and timely meal delivery.



Participate in basic food preparation: Perform tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients to support cooking processes.



Adhere to food safety regulations: Ensure all food handling and preparation meet hospital and legal standards for safety and hygiene.
