Background

Matchaya is a classy Japanese-themed café serving one of the best and most authentic matcha tea in Singapore. Other than matcha, we also serve various teas, teasserts, healthy bowls as well as merchandise. The store that you will be working at is conveniently located at the heart of CBD between Raffles MRT and Telok Ayer MRT station, in the building, CapitaSpring.

About the role

You will be working in one of the trendiness café with modern decorations and a professional environment. As a Tearista/Counter Crew, your key role is to take orders, prepare and serve delicious drinks and/or food to our customers. Working with the rest of the team, you are expected to be friendly, flexible and versatile on the job. You will be working with our Store Manager and your duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for all duties relevant to a Tearista/Counter Crew

  • Prepare made-to-order beverages such as tea and coffee timely and professionally.

  • Ensure counter area is mis-en-place and all equipment & bar utensils are washed and cleaned.

  • Take customer orders with patience, friendly and accurately.

  • Cashiering duties

  • Provide excellent customer service and satisfaction.

  • Assist in stocktake and inventory management for the store.

  • Assist kitchen duties when requested by Store Manager.

  • Assist in opening and closing duties.

  • Keep the environment clean and well maintained.

  • To participate in all training programs relevant to the company’s businesses.

  • Communicate well and work harmoniously with all team members.

  • Be open to feedback and continuously seek improvements.

  • Experience in tea and coffee drinks preparation.

  • Proactive, outgoing, able to connect with customers and deliver great customer service experience.

  • Open to learn new things.

  • Able to work as a team

  • Able to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Has a valid food and safety certificate.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a restaurant/café environment.

  • Love spending weekends and holidays with family and friends.
