Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and methodical Lab Technician to join our Research and Development team. This role offers comprehensive training in advanced scaffold fabrication and cell culture techniques, with opportunities to contribute to cutting-edge corneal tissue engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Research Bio Lab technician - Regenerative Medicine Frontiers:
Tissue Engineering and Cell Culture:
Support the development of cornea tissues from adult stem cells through specialized cultivation techniques
Assist in the fabrication and characterization of collagen-based scaffolds using bovine origin raw material and synthetic polymers
Learn and execute scaffold fabrication processes during an intensive 1-2 month training period
Participate in the optimization of biomimetic human cornea development using collagen sheets
Support animal studies related to corneal tissue engineering
Cellular Expansion Differentiation & Analysis:
Assist in cell cultivation, testing, and characterization procedures
Prepare and optimize media formulations for cell therapy applications
Execute various assays and routine studies with high precision
Conduct immunohistological analyses using various techniques on frozen and archived specimens
Perform nucleic acid extractions and PCR experiments
Laboratory Operations:
Collect, prepare, and evaluate tissue specimens and cultures
Maintain and operate sophisticated laboratory equipment
Prepare stock solutions, including chemical and radioisotope solutions, following safety protocols
Execute immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence techniques
Perform specimen dissection and analysis with precision
Documentation and Quality Control:
Record and analyze experimental data using specialized software
Perform statistical analysis and maintain detailed documentation
Manage laboratory inventory and track calibration schedules
Monitor expiration dates and ensure proper material handling
Check for up-to-date SOPs on key procedures.
Ensure calibrations are performed at appropriate intervals by qualified personnel.
Verify proper maintenance of calibration records.
Check if a system exists for tracking inventory (chemicals, equipment, consumables).
Evaluate the effectiveness of the system in maintaining accurate records.
Observe the process of physically counting stock and comparing it to documented records.
Ensure discrepancies are identified and addressed appropriately.
Review procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing stock items.
Verify proper authorization and documentation for these actions.
Assess procedures for tracking expiry dates of chemicals and consumables.
Ensure proper disposal methods are followed for expired or hazardous materials.
Assist in the acquisition and documentation of reagents and/or consumables.
Assist in the maintenance and update of audit-related files.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, or related field
Exposure to laboratory experience
Strong expertise in aseptic technique and cell culture
Experience with basic molecular biology techniques
Excellent documentation and analytical skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols precisely
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with tissue engineering or biomaterials
Knowledge of scaffold fabrication techniques
Familiarity with collagen chemistry
Experience with immunohistological techniques
Background in animal studies
Training Provided:
