The Senior Director, Communications APAC and China is responsible for strategy, planning, and execution of Cytiva’s Communications program in the Asia Pacific region to engage internal and external stakeholders in alignment with Cytiva’s business strategy and key priorities. This leader will cultivate a robust, transparent approach to external and internal communications that supports a rich businsess culture aligned to Cytiva’s associate value proposition, and a strong external positioning that grows reputation and brand value among external stakeholders. This position leads a team represented in Korea, India, and Shanghai.
This position reports to the VP, Global Group Communications and is part of the Global Group Marketing function. The role is located either in Shanghai, China, Singapore, or Seoul, Korea and will be an on-site role.
What you will do:
- Maintain reputation and crisis communications framework and capability, acting as lead on group- wide reputation management issues and supporting business communicators in the region.
- Build trusted relationships with your team members; Understand what they value and support them in achieving their development goals. Mentor the team to enhance their network and identify ambitious / stretch roles or projects to support career progression.
- Continuously evolve and improve the function using the Danaer Business System (DBS) and data-driven decisions to optimize performance and evaluate the success of Communication initiatives
- Work across various teams including field marketing, brand, and marcom team in China and APAC to make sure we deliver consistent messages and actions, efficiently consolidating resources to contribute to business growth and reputation strengthening.
- Work with the agency of record, deliver external communications to identified target media representatives and measure outcomes.
- Manage the relationship with Danaher’s regional communication leaders and contributes to communications leadership among Danaher stakeholders.
- Develop and evolve standard work and incorporate the latest technologies and standard methodologies to amplify communications and improve current practices.
Who you are:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, English Literature or Communications preferred. Fluent in written and spoken English.
- 10+ years of successful Communications experience
- Experience in managing, partnering, and overseeing contract agencies, vendors, intranet, social media, and aligning messaging to Employee Value Propositions.
- Leadership experience: has at least five years leading team members balancing execution through others with inclusiveness, leveraging expertise, clear thinking, imagination, and external focus.
- Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers, generate alternatives and drive positive change.
- Extensive experience working in complex, global, matrixed organizations with sound understanding of global process and transactional flows.
- Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
