RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead cross-departmental collaborations, providing strategic legal advice and support across a wide range of corporate, transaction, and regulatory matters.
- Oversee and advise on complex commercial and corporate matters, including drafting, negotiation, and review of agreements with trading counterparties and liquidity providers, including trading agreements, ISDAs, CSAs, NDAs, and MOUs.
- Drive the company’s regulatory strategy as a regulated and licensed financial institution, serving as the in-house Subject Matter Expert on regulatory and legislative issues, and coordinating with external counsel in Singapore and new jurisdictions for growth.
- Coordinate with external counsel in various jurisdictions to resolve complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Stay informed on applicable laws and regulations affecting the business, ensuring proactive compliance and strategic alignment.
- Ensure the company’s regulatory and compliance documents, policies, and procedures are current and compliant with applicable regulations.
- Oversee processes and controls for accurate recordkeeping of all documentation and communications with internal stakeholders, regulators, and clients.
- Provide strategic support and guidance to internal stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent from a reputable university.
- 5+ years of relevant work experience including experience in the digital assets sector and/or in a licensed financial institution.
- Admission to the Singapore / Hong Kong / UK Bar is preferred but any common law jurisdiction may be considered.
- Exceptional verbal, presentation, and written communication skills. Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are advantageous.
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex transactional documents and advising senior business stakeholders.
- Highly motivated leader and team player, capable of thriving in a fast-paced and demanding, yet collaborative, environment.
