Research Assistant (Digital Literacy in Adult Learners)
Ageing Research Institute for Society & Education (ARISE) invites applications for the position of Research Assistant.
ARISE is a pan-university institute at NTU focussed on ageing-related research, programmes and activities to address the demands of an ageing population.
ARISE acts as a coordinating body to synergise the efforts and resources between various groups, both within NTU and trans-organisation, to optimise the outcomes and impacts of our efforts to benefit the individuals in particular, communities and society in general.
The successful candidate will be involved in a 3-year funded project which aims to understand self-regulated learning among adult learners, especially in the context of digital (AI) literacy training and how they transfer their learning to work. The candidate will help to plan, coordinate, and conduct research work together with the NTU project team.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct literature review related to the research project
Manage participants recruitment process
Collect data through qualitative (e.g. interview) and quantitative methods (e.g. experiments and surveys)
Analyze data using softwares such as Nvivo, SPSS, etc.
Supervise and lead a team of part-time research assistants
Support the preparation of ethics application, presentation, progress reports, financial reports and research related documents.
Perform research administration tasks including but not limited to liaising with external parties on matters related to the project (e.g., purchase of software and equipment) and answering enquiries related to the project.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Cognitive Science, or related fields
Good academic writing and oral communication skills
Ability to work in a team and also independently
Ability to supervise or mentor students
Experience in conducting and managing research projects
Experience with cognitive/neuropsychological assessment with children and/or adults
Ability to work within tight deadlines
Self-directed learner who can effectively picks up relevant skills as needed
Ability to collect, analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data
Past working experience in academic research roles is desirable.
