What a Precision Overmold (POM) Manufacturing Development Engineer does in HP:

  • Supporting Fab Overmold, BESI Pick and Place, Debonding and lamination processes
  • Enhance processes to achieve manufacturing stability.
  • Collaborate with the US development team on the development roadmap.
  • Lead the long-term convergence process with the US technology development team.
  • Oversee key strategic programs, such as Smart Manufacturing.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments in related technologies and industry trends.
  • Help translate strategies into clear objectives for the organization.

Individuals who will do well in this role in HP, usually possess:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, or Materials Engineering. Candidates with a diploma and over 10 years of manufacturing experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a backend semiconductor/fab environment.
  • Statistical knowledge is key for the process role, candidate must have a good grasp of JMP, able to deploy techniques such as T-test, correlation testing, box plots etc.
  • Strong organizational skills and business acumen, with a solid understanding of the value chain.
  • Excellent communication skills, including abilities in writing, presentation, negotiation, and influencing.
  • In-depth knowledge of various cross-technical disciplines (Mechanical, Electronics, chemical , material etc).
  • Proficient project management skills, including time and risk management, resource prioritization, and project structuring.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and lead cross-site teams, with a deep understanding of key technical topics.
  • Strategic thinker: Ability to position the POM work centre with the integration of AI.
