Title:
Senior Process Safety EngineerJob Responsibilities:
Independently or with minimum supervision, carry out design safety philosophies, specifications for fire protection systems (active and passive), and data sheets for firefighting systems.
Develop UFDs and P&IDs for the fire protection systems and carry out fire water/foam demand calculations (including gas suppression systems) and firewater system hydraulic check analysis.
Prepare hazardous area classification source release schedules and drawings, fire zone drawings, safety and fire fighting equipment layouts, escape route drawings, safety signs drawings, firefighting nozzle coverage shadow drawings, etc.
Participate in process hazard reviews and analysis, including HAZOP/HAZID/SIL studies (when needed), and support in actions close-out.
Under minimum supervision or independently, carry out the design of active and passive fire protection packages (including preparing requisitions, datasheets, TBE, etc.) and PFP schedule documents.
Support in reviewing/consolidating comments and coordinating third party studies, including FERA, dispersion analysis, EERA, ESSA, dropped objects study, TRIA, ship collision study, QRA studies, etc. (not limited to).
Support in TBE and vendor document reviews in Mechanical/Electrical/Instrument packages on safety (including HFE) aspects.
Provide inputs, including Human Factors Engineering, for projects as required.
Interface/coordinate with other Engineering disciplines to resolve technical matters related to safety aspects.
Interact/coordinate with Designers and provide inputs for safety layout preparations for projects as required.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university
Minimum of 7 years of HSE Engineering experience (Process Safety/Risk Analysis/Loss Prevention Engineering) in the Oil and Gas industry.
Experience in design projects for offshore (FPSO/Platforms) and onshore (Refineries, LNG facilities, Storage terminals, etc.) is required.
Possess good knowledge of International Codes and Standards, Regulatory codes and standards (DNV/ABS), and the ability to influence designs to achieve optimal HSE outcomes.
Familiarity with plot plan reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL classification/verification, and other safety reviews (e.g., SIMOPS, ALARP) is preferred.
Good working knowledge of PIPENET, Flaresim, and other consequence modeling software such as DNV PHAST, etc., is required.
The candidate should be a good team Engineer and have proactive inter-discipline communication skills.
