Main purpose of the job

The Global Sustainability Lead: Human rights plays a crucial role in developing and implementing Human rights strategies in procurement. Providing leadership to the Procurement Sustainability teams globally, this role promotes best practices across all regions and drives human rights initiatives. A key accountability includes improving human rights aspects within Asahi Supply chain globally. This role also focuses on building strong stakeholder relationships and managing supplier partnerships, with a specific focus on human rights within sustainability. The ideal candidate will monitor, evaluate and enhance practices related to human rights within Asahi supply chain. Ultimately, this role supports Procurement's sustainability and the continuous improvement of Procurement capabilities and practices, aligning these with Asahi's overall strategy.

Accountabilities and deliverables

1. Develop and lead the Asahi’s global human rights strategy for the supply chain

2. Align human rights goals with broader corporate sustainability and social responsibility objectives

3. Monitor emerging trends, regulations, and innovations to anticipate and address future challenges

4. Oversee the creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of human rights policies, standards, and supplier code of conduct

5. Ensure alignment with international frameworks and standards to keep the program up to date and relevant

6. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for human rights in the supply chain and track progress against the targets

7. Develop clear strategy and implementation roadmap to achieve the targets

8. Work closely with all regions and category teams globally to increase capabilities on human rights

9. Present program updates to internal and external stakeholders.

10. Develop the success stories for internal and external communication

11. Develop and maintain strong partnership with suppliers focusing on agenda-specific aspects such as performance

12. Cross functional collaboration to drive efficiency making use of right tools and technology platforms

Requirements

Qualification criteria

  • University degree, preferably in human rights, sustainability or equivalent (master’s degree preferred)
  • Proficiency in English
  • 10+ years of professional experience, in Human rights management within supply chain
  • International experience from multinational company
  • 3+ years of proven managerial experience
  • Strong leadership, project management and communication skills
