RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate would be required to:

  • To assist Deputy Manager in the implementation, review and improvement of yard’s Safety Management System to maintain a safe and healthy working environment in the premise.
  • To manage Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) activities to ensure that the organisation complies with external regulations and standards
  • To monitor and evaluate the organisation’s overall HSE performance to identify recurring problem; research, evaluate and recommend changes to technology, equipment, systems or processes that will improve the organisation’s HSE performance
  • To keep up-to-date with proposed and actual changes in HSE regulations so that the organisation’s HSE policy remain current and relevant
  • To recommends and formulate safety policies and procedures
  • To provide assistance to work process with safety planning and incident prevention
  • To evaluate and review sub-contractors safety program and procedure compliance
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HSE training programmes
  • To assist in safety audits and safety evaluation process (if any)
  • Prompt and efficient in handling of incident and accident investigation
  • To maintain and complete HSE reports and documentation
  • Stay abreast of latest HSE trends and best practices for implementation on site

REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate shall preferably possess:-

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications / Diploma / Master / Certificate in Health and Safety or a related discipline (or equivalent knowledge and experience)
  • With minimum 3 years experience in the marine industry and proven experience of maintaining safe and healthy working environment in workplace.
  • Possess high HSE DNA skills as to drive and lead HSE performance at workplace
  • Have high people skills as to lead a versatile, multinational team of staff and crew
  • Possess good communication, presentation and Microsoft office skills
  • Good in writing business/technical reporting and presentation skills
