About the Role

• Keep abreast of trends in Medical Innovation locally, regionally, and globally; identify potential initiatives that will strengthen AIA’s offerings to deliver health outcomes, enhance patient experience, drive revenue growth, and optimize cost /operational efficiency.
• Lead Health Technology Assessments of any new products, services or devices that could be incorporated into AIA’s insurance propositions or medical facilities.
• Lead the development and maintenance of a Health Technology scanning and assessment pipeline across AIA and regularly lead discussions with the AIA IHS community of practice on evolving trends and potential applications in Asia.
• Support the development of Health & Wellness partner propositions and identify strategic partnerships for AIA with clear focus on the health innovation front to support the delivery of different propositions.
• Evaluate strategic and operational opportunities related to healthcare delivery in strategic geographies to target types of innovators for the Innovations in Healthcare network.
• Research, identify and pursue relationships based on IHS priorities and strategic opportunities.
• Coordinate with cross functional business areas involved in the development, including both enterprise level and local market leaders, to gain input and inform on partnership developments.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Gives guidance on business and operational performance of medical innovation initiatives; partners with external partners to ensure program KPIs are established and delivered; addresses partner performance problems.
  • Conduct regular customer analytics to assess effectiveness of medical innovation programs in delivering target health outcomes and customer experience.
  • Provide medical insights and expert clinical advisory on specific clinical innovation topics or requests coming from Group and LBU’s inline with key healthcare topics evolving.
  • Design and develop various medical innovation initiatives working with stakeholders: internal (Medical teams, Product Proposition, Finance, IT, Sales, Operations) and external stakeholders (potential partners) based on consumer needs and business opportunities.
  • Do the research and provide a clear analytical and objective review on comparisons of innovative health diagnostics upcoming in key markets versus conventional practices to enable clear informed policies to be formed on the coverage of such diagnostics.
  • Conduct Due Diligence on Health Technology Assessments of any new products, services or devices that could be incorporated into AIA’s insurance propositions or medical facilities.

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years clinical and operations management experience as a senior leader in a clinical healthcare setting including and not limited to expertise in utilization management, hospital operations and managed care operations
  • Business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage vendor partnerships with a range of stakeholders
  • Data analytics and insight generation
  • Strong communication and prioritization skills, project management skills as well as exceptional analysis, conceptual design/impact assessment skills, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong industry knowledge, leadership, relationship building and the ability to effectively influence decisions and positively impact progress.
  • Ability to navigate through the organization, get answers, and deliver results in a timely and professional manner.
  • Innovative thinking, high self-motivation, attention to detail, creativity; able to take a pro-active and solution focused approach.
