Job Overview:
As a Systems Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing and supporting middleware systems and servers to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability. This position involves hands-on administration, configuration, and troubleshooting of various platforms and technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Middleware Administration:
Manage and maintain the IBM API Platform.
Administer IBM DPOD for operational monitoring and analysis.
Oversee Apache server, Tomcat application server, and WebSphere application server administration.
Installation and Configuration:
Perform installation, upgrades, and configuration of Apache, WebSphere, and Tomcat servers.
Security and Maintenance:
Implement security vulnerability fixes across middleware systems.
Perform routine maintenance and ensure system compliance with security standards.
Optional Expertise:
Use Dynatrace for application performance monitoring and issue tracing.
General System Administration:
Conduct basic administration of Windows Server 2016/2019 and Linux systems.
Execute basic network troubleshooting tasks.
Scripting and Automation:
Utilize Python and wsadmin scripting for system automation and maintenance.
Requirements:
A strong educational background in IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with the above-listed technologies.
Proficiency in interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong command of written and spoken English.
Flexibility to work beyond business hours, including weekends, as necessary.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Dynatrace for application monitoring.
Familiarity with security practices and middleware troubleshooting
