Purpose and Scope

Responsible for Compactor maintenance from maintenance, repair till refurbishment works. You will work closely with the workshop team to ensure all key task maintenance is handled in a timely and professional manner.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Point of contact to receive breakdown activations from Ops/CRM and to ensure all breakdowns are delegated and attended to by technicians with duly filled service report forms submitted daily.
  • Assist to plan and ensure scheduled preventive maintenance of SembWaste compactors on a pre-determined cycle & servicing of customer-owned compactors under contract.
  • Ensure all repairs conducted in workshop are properly done and checked before QC checks by Manager prior to deployment.
  • Coordinate with Operations Department to haul compactors back to workshop for major repairs/washing/preventive maintenance and to ensure appropriate serviceable spares are available.
  • Provide on-site training & advice on the handling & operation of compactor to users.
  • Responsible for department’s material store and hydraulic oil inventory and to ensure optimal stock levels at all times for in-house and on-site usage.
  • Assist in and to supervise site works in bin centres contracted to SembWaste.
  • Ensure zero accident occurrences in workshop/on-site and all company HSE guidelines are adhered to.
  • To submit monthly report
  • To support Fleet Management & suction equipment daily operation
  • SAC management and OTC repair/maintenance
  • Familiar with Star/Delta 3 phase power system

Qualification, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum Nitec in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical or Mechatronics
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
  • Familiar and experience in PLC programming and able to modify the program to suit operation needs
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic knowledge and able to do design change on the system
  • With valid Class 3 driving license
  • Mobile crane license or Class 4 will be advantageous
