As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.


We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Research Assistant to join our team for a radiography-focused project aimed at establishing Diagnostic Reference Levels (DRLs) for Digital Mammography in Singapore. This initiative is crucial for enhancing patient safety and aligning with international radiation protection standards. The ideal candidate should have experience in academic research, including handling administrative tasks, and be eager to contribute to the advancement of radiographic practices in clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
  • Undertake these responsibilities in the project:
    • Preparing and submitting ethics approval applications
    • Coordinating and scheduling meetings and research activities
    • Requesting information and maintaining detailed research log files and documentation
    • Collaborate and communicate with participating healthcare institutions, research team members, and other relevant professionals.
    • Assist in the development and refinement of research materials, ensuring they meet project objectives.
    • Support data-related tasks, including data collection at participating healthcare institutions, data processing, entry, and analysis.
    • Maintain accurate and organised records of data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with ethical standards.
    • Manage administrative tasks related to the research projects, such as:
    • Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to support the research objectives.
    • Assist in preparation of research reports, findings and presentations.
    • Organise and attend project meetings, monitor the project budget, and contribute to other projects and initiatives as needed.
    • Prepare and write manuscripts for publications with the research team
  • Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
  • Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

Job Requirements:

  • Have relevant competence in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant discipline (e.g., Diagnostic Radiography, Health Science, Nursing, Biomedical Science, Public Health, Allied Health, etc).
  • Knowledge of research-related software such as Endnote, Mendeley, STATA, or SPSS is advantageous.
  • Basic skills in data analysis will be a strong asset.
