We are looking for a Research Fellow to investigate ribosome-associated protein degradation. The role will focus on exploring how cells identify and degrade faulty proteins produced from stalled ribosomes, with an emphasis on understanding the molecular players and pathways involved in maintaining protein homeostasis.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute experimental strategies to study ribosome-associated protein degradation pathways.
Analyze large datasets from proteomics, transcriptomics, or other high-throughput methods to identify novel components or interactions.
Prepare high-quality research manuscripts, present findings at conferences, and contribute to grant proposals.
Mentor junior lab members, including graduate and undergraduate students, and foster a collaborative research environment.
Maintain detailed experimental records, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and contribute to the overall organization of the lab.
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in biology or related field
At least 4 years of relevant experience in biology research (including graduate study) / technical hands-on experience in yeast genetics.
Familiarity with advanced techniques and methodologies in molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology, as well as adherence to ethical research standards and best practices in the field.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Proficiency in data analysis, and statistical tools, including the ability to organize, process, and interpret experimental data effectively.
Competent in soft skills such as clear and effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and the ability to present and visualize complex scientific data for diverse audiences.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work independently, develop solutions under strict timelines, maintain meticulous attention to detail, and demonstrate excellent organizational and time management abilities.
