An excellent opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, flexible and motivated podiatrist to join our committed, progressive and friendly Podiatry team. Locum positions are available in the areas of general Podiatry, biomechanics and wound care.

Excellent time management, communication and organisational skills are essential. You will be able to demonstrate empathy, resilience, a methodical approach and an aptitude for problem solving using your own initiative. Excellent teamwork is essential to ensure a consistent, quality service to our patients and an enjoyable working environment.

Relevant training will be given, and an assigned buddy will help to orientate you. Locum Podiatrists are welcome to participate in team discussions and contribute to departmental decisions. You will be one of the NUH Podiatry Family for as long as you are with us.

The Challenges

  • To assess and diagnose patients with a diverse range of medical and podiatric conditions, using appropriate diagnostic techniques, skills and tools.
  • Report to and liaise with referring doctor and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Document patient podiatry notes clearly, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Charge patients accurately.
  • Perform assessment and registration of new patients.
  • Comply with clinical standard operating procedures.
  • Comply with department policies in clinical governance, health and safety and infection control.
  • Supervise Therapy Assistants and students in Podiatry.
  • Practice within area of professional and clinical competence and seek support from supervisor / other healthcare professionals when appropriate.

The Requirements

  • A recognised Degree in Podiatry
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills
  • Positive and collaborative
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
