PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The Electricity Trader plays a crucial role in the trading, settlement, and verification of power and gas data for the team. This position requires close collaboration with both internal stakeholders and external counterparts to effectively manage and resolve issues related to electricity market operations.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Daily Market Operations: Conduct prompt trading, generate post-day reports, and manage the settlement and verification of power and gas data.
- Gas Nominations: Oversee the process of gas nominations, including submitting requests for gas supply and transport capacity, and ensuring the coordination between gas and electricity market operations.
- Market Analysis: Utilize analytical tools to identify market opportunities, offering sound recommendations to optimize trading strategies and revenue generation.
- Competitive Intelligence: Continuously analyze the underlying supply and demand dynamics in both the electricity and gas markets, gathering intelligence on market conditions to inform trading decisions.
- Compliance: Ensure all processes and transactions align with market rules, the company’s risk management guidelines, and relevant operational procedures.
- Process Improvement: Assist in reviewing and refining business processes and methodologies to enhance team efficiency, reduce errors, and improve performance.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong coordination with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve any market-related operational issues promptly.
- Project Participation and Innovation: Actively contribute to and take ownership of new business initiatives, optimization projects, and process improvements to drive innovation and efficiency within the team and organization.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Educational Background: A degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Professional Experience: Relevant experience in the energy, utilities, or trading industry is preferred but not required.
