The role:
We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Medical Director (with a background of either primary care, occupational health, or psychiatry) to lead the development, integration, and expansion of medical and mental health services within Intellect.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this role will focus on driving excellence in medical and clinical mental healthcare, advancing medical innovations, and ensuring the delivery of scalable, culturally relevant mental healthcare solutions.
In addition to strategic responsibilities, this role will also involve direct patient care, providing hands-on insights to refine services and uphold clinical excellence. The Medical Director will play a pivotal role in advancing our vision to be the world leader in hyper-local mental healthcare and a world-class integrated mental healthcare system.
Medical leadership and strategy:
- Lead the expansion of medical and mental health services, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and growth objectives, including preventative, primary, and specialised care
- Define and oversee medical standards, protocols, and clinical governance for psychiatric and integrated care services
- Develop strategies to integrate psychiatric care with preventive and primary mental health services, creating a seamless and scalable system
Service expansion and development:
- Drive the development of new service offerings, such as medication management, telemedicine, occupational health programs, crisis intervention programs, and integrated care
- Identify and implement solutions to adapt medical mental health services to local markets, ensuring cultural and regulatory relevance
- Build the relevant teams, facilities, and resources to enable service launch and delivery
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and pilot innovative care models that
- Incorporate psychopharmacology and evidence-based medical practices
- Embed medical expertise into tech-enabled solutions and services
Clinical quality and governance:
- Oversee the quality and safety of all medical services, ensuring adherence to evidence-based practices and compliance with local regulations
- Develop, implement, and oversee protocols for managing medications, addressing complex cases, and ensuring continuity of care
- Monitor clinical outcomes and use data-driven insights to refine and optimise service delivery
Practice and patient care:
- Provide direct care on a limited basis to gain practical insights, enhance service quality, and maintain clinical expertise
- Serve as a clinical consultant for escalated cases and complex medical or mental health needs
- Offer consultation for complex or escalated cases, ensuring the highest standard of patient care
- Use hands-on experience to inform the development and improvement of clinical models and frameworks
Innovation and integration:
- Lead initiatives to integrate medical and mental health services into a cohesive, scalable system
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed medical frameworks into product and service design
- Explore new care models that bridge psychiatry, occupational health, primary, and preventive care to meet client and market demands
- Identify opportunities for research and development in medical care to enhance the organisation’s clinical offerings and thought leadership
Stakeholder engagement:
- Represent the organisation in discussions with insurers, payers, and regulatory bodies to advocate for and expand medical and mental health services
- Build partnerships with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers, researchers, and industry leaders, to strengthen the company’s clinical capabilities
- Engage with enterprise clients to design and implement tailored psychiatric care frameworks that meet their organisational needs
Cross-functional collaboration:
- Work closely with internal teams to align medical services with broader clinical, operational, and business objectives
- Provide mentorship and guidance to clinicians and team members on the implementation of medical care models
Requirements
- Education:
- Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with licensure in a relevant field
- Full SMC registration to practice in Singapore
- Specialisation or advanced training in either psychiatry, occupational health, family medicine, or related fields is highly desirable
- Experience:
- Minimum 7-10 years of clinical experience in either primary, occupational health, or psychiatry, leadership roles in mental health or integrated care systems is not required but would be a bonus
- Proven expertise in scaling medical and healthcare services across diverse markets is a bonus
- Skills:
- Strong strategic and operational skills to drive service expansion and clinical excellence
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to engage diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and implement scalable healthcare solutions
