Research Fellow (Catalysis)
The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) provides a vibrant and nurturing environment for staff and students to carry out inter-disciplinary research in key areas such as Computational Materials Science, Characterisation Materials Science, Defence Composite Materials, Functional Composite Materials, Energy, Nanomaterials, Low Dimensional Materials, Biomaterials Materials, Biological Materials, Bioinspired Materials and Sustainable Materials.
We are looking for a research fellow with a strong background in electrochemistry and catalysis to Development and optimization of biomass chemical conversion technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and optimize catalysts, including MOF-derived and bimetallic systems, for biomass conversion and sustainable chemical processes.
Research on novel solvent processing techniques
Design and fabricate advanced sensing devices for chemical conversion applications.
Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques for catalyst development, reaction optimization, and process scaling.
Utilize flow chemistry techniques to develop efficient, scalable chemical transformation processes.
Mentor and train graduate students in research methods and scientific techniques.
Publish high-quality research in top-tier scientific journals.
Job Requirements:
PhD in a relevant field such as Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Candidates with a strong research background and practical experience in areas such as biomass conversion, MOF-based catalysis, the application of artificial intelligence in chemical engineering, or flow chemistry will be given preference.
Capable of design and assemble of device prototypes.
Ability to conduct independent research while also effectively collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
A strong written and oral command of the English language for research purposes
A proven track record of publications in top-tier scientific journals.
