Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Solar Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Solar Sales Engineer, you will play a key role in driving residential solar system sales by engaging directly with homeowners, understanding their energy needs, and providing them with tailored solar energy solutions. You will combine technical expertise with strong sales abilities to promote the benefits of solar technology, educate customers about the advantages of renewable energy, and guide them through the purchasing process.
Key Responsibilities:
• Sales and Business Development:
o Identify and target residential customers through various sales channels including inbound inquiries, referrals, and outbound prospecting.
o Conduct site assessments to evaluate solar energy potential for residential properties.
o Educate customers on the benefits of solar energy, cost savings, and environmental impact.
o Provide customized solar solutions based on the homeowner’s energy needs, budget, and roof structure.
o Develop and present compelling solar system proposals, including cost estimates, savings projections, and financing options.
o Drive the sales process from initial inquiry to close, ensuring an excellent customer experience.
• Technical Expertise:
o Conduct thorough technical assessments of residential properties to determine feasibility for solar installations.
o Collaborate with internal engineering and design teams to ensure accurate system specifications.
o Explain complex technical information in an easy-to-understand manner to non-technical customers.
o Stay updated on the latest solar technology, industry trends, and government incentives to provide clients with accurate and relevant information.
• Customer Relationship Management:
o Develop long-term relationships with clients, ensuring post-sale satisfaction and customer referrals.
o Address customer concerns, questions, and objections promptly and professionally.
o Maintain a strong knowledge of competitors’ offerings and market trends to stay competitive.
• Collaboration and Reporting:
o Work closely with the installation and project management teams to ensure smooth project execution.
o Maintain detailed records of sales activity, customer communications, and project timelines.
o Achieve and exceed sales targets and contribute to the company’s growth in the residential solar market.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, or a related field (preferred).
• 1 years of experience in sales or engineering roles, preferably in the solar energy industry or a technical sales environment.
• Strong understanding of solar technology, energy systems, and residential applications.
• Proven ability to develop relationships and sell complex solutions in a consultative manner.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in using CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and other sales management software.
• Knowledge of local solar energy incentives, tax rebates, and financing options is a plus.
• A passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
Additional Skills (Desirable):
• Experience with solar design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope).
• Previous experience in residential sales or energy-related industries.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple sales opportunities simultaneously.
