About the Function
The Global Procurement function at Diageo plays a key role in fueling growth and value, every day everywhere. This role forms part of the extended APAC Procurement Leadership Team and owns driving the transformation and deliverables of Risk and Governance (R&G) which includes continuous process improvement. This role also lead the Program Management Office (PMO) to drive Regional President’s Productivity program and cross-functional initiatives, communications, program management and reporting. It reports into the Head of Procurement for APAC, who in turns reports into the Chief Procurement Officer.

The Supply Chain and Procurement function is undergoing a period of transformation. Lean and efficient supply chains are more important than ever, with a focus on new data and technology, and strategic integration for decision making. This role is expected to implement a framework that minimises risk to the organisation whilst strengthening our process governance still maintaining simplicity and agility, and evolving the R&G area by bringing the external in, challenging status quo, and contributing to the broader Diageo supply chain and procurement transformation ambition.

The stakeholder map for this role is complex with varying stakeholder needs which require building and managing relationships in a matrixed environment that includes the Global Diageo One Procurement Community, as well as broader business and cross-functional leadership teams.

About the role

This role is not a pure compliance and risk and governance role but the head of the Program Management Office (PMO). This will give you exposure to broader procurement and business processes empowering you with options for the future to either remain in the space of risk and governance as a career path, or branch out into other areas of the procurement function.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead APAC procurement and other internal teams as appropriate, including senior stakeholders, together with third party vendors to delivery against objectives related to the Risk & Governance agenda
  • Lead simplification and standardization of procurement processes and controls to ensure compliance across all APAC markets
  • Lead and execute the Controls, Assurance and Risk Assessment (CARM) Cycle, as well as design and test procurement controls for APAC
  • Ensure compliance to Governance Processes and Audit readiness (pre-work, evidences, etc.)
  • Lead performance management of procurement non-financial key performance indicators to ensure targets are achieved
  • Represent the APAC Procurement Team as the subject matter expert on procurement processes and controls as part of the Audit cycle and process
  • Act as the key interface between the APAC Procurement Team and the Global Procurement Risk and Governance Team, to implement new global initiatives and processes
  • Lead Program Management Office (PMO) – lead and oversee the PMO, including the implementation of projects, KPIs and key process improvement initiatives. Responsible to get all cross-functional leaders aligned on the timeline, deliverables, and reporting.

Experience / skills required

  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in continuous improvements work or consulting background will be an advantage
  • Capability and experience in successfully leading change and transformation of processes
  • Strong analytical skills and exceptional communication skills: verbal, written and presentation with the ability to clearly communicate and articulate complex situations in simple terms to enable stakeholder engagement and buy-in
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and gain credibility with stakeholders across all levels
  • Commercial acumen and pragmatic with the ability to take decisions that drive total-business value through creative solutions
  • Resilient and able to work in an agile, fast-moving environment and to keep up with pace of change and prioritise according to business needs
  • Can do broad strategic thinking as well as detailed hands-on execution
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven track record of consistent performance and delivery in a challenging and fast-paced environment
  • Strong Program Management skills to drive complicated programs with complex stakeholders an cross-functional teams.
  • Strong Leadership and strategic thinking. Provide thought leadership and Coaching to the junior program managers and cross-functional teams.
