Overview

The Director of IT Planning and Business Relationship Management at MUFG Bank's Systems Office for Asia (ASO) in Singapore is a high-level leadership role responsible for strategic IT planning, performance monitoring, stakeholder communication, and team management. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in strategic planning, IT initiatives, business relationship management, and team leadership. The Director will oversee a team of over 10 professionals, ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals and fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and promote comprehensive business plans and strategies.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including the Head Office in Tokyo and APAC management, to ensure cohesive strategy development and execution.

  • Propose and evaluate innovative IT initiatives in collaboration with SMEs.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting

  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) of ASO to track the progress and success of IT initiatives.

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, providing insights and recommendations based on data analysis.

  • Generate monthly IT reporting and forecasting for submission to the Head Office, and assist in creating reports and presentation materials for executive meetings.

  • Strategic Partnership and Ad-hoc Support

  • Act as a strategic partner to ASO management, providing proactive support in organizational strategy development and ad-hoc tasks.

  • Evaluate and propose improvements to the organizational framework.

  • Ensure timely responses to emerging issues, contributing to ASO's strategic direction.

  • Stakeholder Communication, Coordination, and Business Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain business partner relationships, with a deep understanding of business and IT needs.

  • Plan to implement new, or improve existing business and IT services, by pursuing the newest technology and cost-effective methods.

  • Understand business needs and reflect them in the IT strategy to ensure alignment and support for business objectives.

  • Manage IT-related meetings and committees, coordinating IT strategies across APAC managements.

  • Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of over 10 professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

  • Provide guidance and support for team members' professional growth and development.

  • High-Level Management

  • Oversee the IT Planning Team and Business Relationship Management Team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Manage and coordinate team activities for effective project and initiative execution.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in IT planning and development within the banking industry, with at least 3 years in IT planning.

  • 3 years in the upstream processes of system development or business relationship management with experience in developing, promoting business plans and strategies, and coordinating with stakeholders from other regions and departments.

  • Minimum JLPT N1 Certification or a degree in Japanese university or equivalent is required to interpret and communicate requirements to the Tokyo Head Office, where primary business communication is in Japanese and work in partnership with the senior management.

  • Experience leading a team of at least 5 members.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop talent.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proactive, responsible, and able to work independently.

  • Fast learner with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.

  • Familiarity with IT strategy and the implementation of new technologies is preferred.
