As a key member of the leadership team, the Financial Controller will manage financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while implementing scalable processes that align with our growth trajectory and tech-focused operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting & Analysis:
  • Deliver accurate, timely financial statements, including performance metrics relevant to the tech industry (e.g., recurring revenue, churn, and customer acquisition costs).
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to provide actionable insights supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Modeling:
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes to align with the fast-paced and agile nature of the tech industry.
  • Develop financial models for product launches, scaling operations, and evaluating new business opportunities.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations (e.g., IFRS, GAAP) and tech-specific industry standards.
  • Oversee tax compliance for SaaS, licensing, and global transactions.
  • Cash Flow & Treasury Management:
  • Manage cash flow to support investments in R&D, product development, and scaling operations.
  • Optimize capital allocation, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Process Automation & System Optimization:
  • Implement robust financial systems, integrating with tech platforms like NetSuite, Salesforce, and custom SaaS billing systems.
  • Automate workflows to improve accuracy and efficiency in reporting and financial operations.
  • Strategic Collaboration:
  • Work closely with product, engineering, and sales teams to align financial strategies with business objectives.
  • Support funding initiatives, including investor relations, due diligence, and financial reporting for venture capital or private equity stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership & Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing finance team with a focus on innovation and collaboration.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging tech industry best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in the tech or SaaS sector.
  • Strong understanding of tech-specific financial metrics like ARR, MRR, LTV, and CAC.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with tools like NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, or SAP for tech companies.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Experience managing financial operations for global entities and multi-currency environments.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment with competing priorities.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in venture-backed tech companies or startups.
  • Familiarity with subscription-based business models and SaaS (Xero) billing systems.
  • Background in managing financial audits, M&A, or fundraising efforts.
