Are you ready to shape the future of Singapore's media landscape? The Media Industry Cluster (MIC) at Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) is looking for a dynamic and experienced Assistant Director to join our Marketing team. In this role, you will optimise the monetisation and distribution of Singapore's media content, spanning films, episodic series, online content, and games. You will also drive business development, build and grow international partnerships, and lead B2B marketing efforts for major local and international media and trade events.

Responsibilities

Marketing, Branding & Communications

  • Lead Strategic Marketing and Communications : Drive marketing, branding, and stakeholder engagement for the Singapore Media Festival (SMF) and its key pillars: Asian TV Forum & Market, Singapore International Film Festival, Singapore Comic Con, and Nas Summit Asia, ensuring alignment with IMDA’s strategic vision.
  • Brand Custodian : Own the SMF brand strategy and ensure alignment with IMDA’s vision, mission, and goals. Partner with branding agencies to create compelling brand strategies, positioning, and content to engage key stakeholders and grow brand equity.
  • Develop Impactful Brand Initiatives : Co-develop strategies with team members to increase brand awareness, relevance, and recognition for Singapore Media companies and content across local and international markets.
  • Ensure Brand Consistency : Maintain consistent tone, style, quality, and messaging across all channels – offline (physical), online, and social – optimised for user experience and search.
  • Strategic Campaign Development : Conceptualise and execute targeted B2B marketing campaigns to position Singapore content and talent for international recognition.
  • Sales and Marketing Assets : Oversee the creation of B2B assets to showcase Singapore’s media catalogue at international markets, driving visibility and commercial opportunities.
  • Champion SG Media Excellence : Build a cohesive and resonant voice for Singapore’s media industry, positioning the country as a global hub for media innovation and excellence.
  • Translate Strategy into Action : Lead go-to-market initiatives, align the organisation around the brand’s positioning, and ensure marketing execution achieves measurable impact.
  • Deliver Strong Presentations : Craft and deliver impactful presentations to internal and external stakeholders to communicate strategies, results, and opportunities effectively.

Event Management and Business Development

  • Strategic Event Management : Lead large-scale international events, campaigns, and trade initiatives, delivering strong engagement and tangible business outcomes for Singapore media talent and content.
  • Optimise Distribution Channels : Identify and drive opportunities to optimise distribution channels for Singapore’s content creators and talent, both regionally and globally.
  • Global Business Development : Build strong relationships with international screen agencies, platforms, sales agents, and distributors to expand Singapore’s market reach and partnerships.
  • Lead Outreach and Partnerships : Drive international outreach and partnership opportunities, staying ahead of trends to position Singapore as a key media player on the global stage.
  • Data-Driven Strategies : Leverage data analytics to refine marketing campaigns, enhance business development efforts, and maximise ROI.
  • Strategic Team Leadership : Provide leadership and mentorship to the team, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and professional growth.
  • Project Management Excellence : Oversee complex projects with multiple stakeholders, ensuring timelines, budgets, and outcomes are met with precision.
  • Industry Insight and Foresight : Possess a deep understanding of the global and regional media landscape to anticipate opportunities, inform strategies, and drive innovation.
  • Elevate SG Media’s Profile : Lead efforts to grow Singapore’s presence at international festivals, markets, and media networks, enabling talent and content to achieve commercial success.

Requirements

  • Business Development Expertise : 10-12 years of proven experience in business development, marketing, or sales within the media or entertainment industry, with a strong track record of driving growth and strategic partnerships.
  • Media Industry knowledge: Deep understanding of the local, regional, and international media landscape, including content distribution strategies and emerging trends.
  • Strategic Partnerships and Relationship Management: Proven ability to cultivate and manage relationships with sales agents, distributors, and industry stakeholders to unlock new opportunities and achieve business objectives.
  • High-Impact Marketing Execution: Demonstrated experience leading high-profile marketing campaigns and large-scale events that deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong Branding Expertise: Proficiency in developing brand strategies, positioning, and campaigns, with experience ensuring consistent brand messaging across multiple platforms and channels.
