Primary English Teacher (PSLE) – Singapore

1. Teaching & Curriculum Delivery

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the
  • Singapore MOE syllabus for Primary 1 -6, with a focus on PSLE Preparation
  • Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills, ensuring mastery of grammar, vocabulary, synthesis, and transformation.
  • Conduct interactive and student-centered learning activities to enhance English language proficiency.
  • - Prepare students for PSLE English examination components,including Paper 1 (Writing), Paper 2 (Language Use & Comprehension), Listening Comprehension, and Oral Communication.
  • Use differentiated teaching strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.

2. Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design and administer formative and summative assessments to track students' progress.
  • Mark and review students’ assignments, compositions, and exam papers with detailed feedback for improvement.
  • Conduct mock exams and PSLE oral practice sessionsto boost students’ confidence and performance.

3. Student Development & Support

  • Identify students’ strengths and weaknesses, offering strategies for improvement.
  • Motivate students to develop a positive learning attitude and a strong foundation in English.

4. Classroom & Behavior Management

  • Maintain discipline and a conducive learning environment** in the classroom.
  • Encourage student participation and foster a growth mindset.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to enhance engagement and learning.

5. Parental Communication & Collaboration

  • Provide regular feedback to parents on students’ progress and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct parent-teacher meetings to discuss students’ academic performance and learning needs.

6. Professional Development & School Collaboration

  • Stay updated with MOE curriculum changes, PSLE trends, and teaching methodologies.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to share best practices and enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Attend staff meetings, workshops, and training sessions as required by the school.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Qualification: Diploma or A Levels + Relevant Teaching Experience of 5 years or English, Education, or a related field
  • Teaching Certification - MOE-recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGDE, NIE-trained) preferred.
  • Experience: At least 2–3 yearsof experience teaching primary-level English in Singapore, preferably with PSLE preparation.
  • Familiarity with MOE syllabus and assessment criteria.
  • Strong command of the English language** and effective communication skills.
  • Passionate about teaching and inspiring young learners.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Temporary
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: $50.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 per week
