Position Overview:
You will be at the core team of Delta Research Center leading disruptive technological advancement with strong business value that empower company’s new business in intelligence machines, robotics and automation. As a research engineer, you will collaborate with technical experts to develop state-of-the-art mobile robot products / solution. You will play a key role in continuously improving existing and new products /technology, as well as be part of a dynamic and growing ecosystem in this field. You will manage and execute research programs and projects – particularly in the domain of robotic manipulation that develop and deliver impactful research and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work within a cross-functional team of robotics scientists and engineers to develop next- generation autonomous mobile robots (AMR)
• Design system architecture, design and write software for robotic systems, sub-systems or modules in a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) environment
• AMR setup, integration, programming and testing using different brands of mobile robots and mobile manipulators, including proprietary robots
• Providing hands-on on-site support for software development, integration, testing and troubleshooting of AMR platforms
• Translate new technology and research outputs into modular and re-useable software packages
• Design of experiments to benchmark system performance by adopting in-house and/or industrial test methodology
• Adopting latest standards and/or methodology to work (Agile, standards, open source, common platform)
Job Requirements:
• Degree/Masters in Electronics, Computing, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
• 4-6 years relevant experience in robotics software design, development and integration
• Passionate in robotic navigation, sensing/perception and control system design, prototyping and practical problem-solving; with hands-on experience with robotics system / hardware
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python and C++, and/or other languages
• Proficient in robot programming using Robot Operating System (ROS) and Linux environment
• Proficient in software development in as AGILE and collaborative environment using CI/CD tools and able to break down robotic software development into smaller tasks
• Experience in one or more of the following domains will be preferred: Localisation, Mapping, Navigation, Machine Vision, Path Planning, Motion Planning, and/or Mission Planning
• Experience with design and development of mobile robots or mobile manipulator will be a plus
• Must be result-orientated, independent and a self-driven team player
