We have a “Pay-it-forward” system where every 3 paying students from the public helps pay for a beneficiary’s Phonics or English lessons. We believe in an evidence-based literacy programme and we are looking for like-minded individuals who want to change lives through literacy and numeracy!
Curious Thoughts Academy is a teacher-owned company and have no private investors. This means that all decisions pertaining to our curriculum are made based on the best interests of the child. We’re not stressed by financial concerns such as looking at “Return on Investments” for private investors or at maximising profitability.
We believe in providing quality education at a reasonable price. As such, we have grown tremendously in student enrolment in these past 5 years as we are lean and flexible to constantly innovate and tweak our curriculum to ensure that we are at the forefront of research.
Job Description:
- Assist in supervising students: enforce class rules to help teach students proper classroom behaviour, using positive discipline techniques at all times.
- Assist in ferrying students from Level 1 lift lobby to respective classrooms.
- Assist in classroom teaching such as guiding students to hold pencils with the correct tripod grip.
- Help teachers with record-keeping, such as tracking attendance and calculating grades.
- Ensure well-being of students at the centre, with strong emphasis on safety and hygiene matters.
- Build and maintain a good relationship with students and parents.
- Assist with administration in between classes.
- Base Salary: Starting from $8/hr.
Job Requirement:
- Singaporeans only
- Able to regularly commit at least 4 hours on either Saturday and/or Sunday. (preferably able to commit for at least 3 to 6 months)
- Must be comfortable with presence of dog (Centre dog is a small Shetland Sheepdog that is trained not to bite and is good with kids. Centre dog helps beneficiaries reduce anxiety and to look forward to classes.)
