Job Description
The Senior Instructional Designer, Curriculum Architect will:
- Use extensive experience of corporate technical and business process training development to architect paths to competence and career journeys for service and support engineers.
- Work with international teams and leaders to define objectives and measurable learning outcomes.
- Work with stakeholder and use instructional design principles and to address knowledge, skill and attitude gaps.
- Work with HR and stakeholders to define how to assess progress and create reporting metrics.
- Utilize personas and other advanced curricula design tools to identify training and development goals, and build efficient learning paths to achieve those goals.
- Be comfortable designing, creating and delivering truly multiple-media training resources that support both learning and performance support. These should include documentation, web-based training, AR/VR, remote and in-person classes and hands-on labs.
- Understand the training needs of service, maintenance, installation, repair, troubleshooting, part replacement and upgrades for field service engineers, technical support engineers and install engineers.
- Conduct review meetings and discussions independently with stakeholders at every level.
- Support testing and validation of new curricula.
- Follow documented best practices, using standard formats and templates while also being comfortable defining and refining these.
- Exerts excellent project management skills on the assigned projects, conducts reviews with stakeholders, provides regular updates to the stakeholders and functional groups.
- Monitor amends and requested updates and implement the changes in the design efficiently and on time.
- Work efficiently and effectively in matrix environment with multiple direct and indirect managers. Comfortably execute to expectations of multiple stakeholders with conflicting requirements and drive consensus, boundaries and clarity where needed.
- Work on medium to extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variance factors. Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Instructional Design or related field preferred
- Minimum 5 years instructional design experience
- Experience in industrial manufacturing/field service/semiconductor would be great
- Experience architecting large certification programs
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Ability to work with global stakeholders
- Flexibility to work across time zones
