[FREELANCE] Tutor for Maths / English, Young Hearts (Primary/Secondary)
Locations: Yishun and Tampines
JOB PURPOSE
The Young Hearts Programme aims to provide children and youth in challenging circumstances with a leg-up in life. We work with partners to develop holistic programmes for children and youth to build strong foundations. These include quality education and enrichment programmes that foster learning and character growth.
We are seeking passionate, responsible and skilled tutors who are able to meaningfully engage and deliver tailored academic support to students facing challenges. Tutors will play a crucial role in helping students overcome educational barriers and build resilience.
Working Hours: 7:00PM - 9:00PM Weekdays (rotational)
JOB SPECIFICATION
Operations
- Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment
- Provide tuition in core subjects
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including other tutors, to plan curriculum; Ability to prepare teaching materials, including periodic assessments, will be an asset
- Work with the Young Hearts team to monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching and classroom management methods as needed
- Respect the privacy and dignity of children and their families at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching English and Math for primary or secondary levels. Retired teachers are encouraged to apply.
- Those with experience teaching children and youth outside of school contexts will be considered on an individual basis.
- Ability to create a positive and motivating learning environment. Familiarity with the challenges faced by children from disadvantaged backgrounds and/ or experience with SEL frameworks for children and youths is highly desirable.
