We are seeking a talented individual to join our Insurer Consulting Group team at Marsh McLennan. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Reporting to the Head, Insurer Consulting Group, International, the Asia Insurer Consulting Group Leader will lead the Insurer Consulting Group (ICG) for Asia, coordinating activities with the International ICG and driving Insurer Consulting Agreement (ICA) revenue growth while managing carrier relationships and providing value-added consulting services to Marsh’s strategic carrier partners.

We will count on you to:

  • Build and maintain effective and sustainable relationships with executive management at strategic carriers.
  • Identify and understand carriers’ appetites and needs, and work with Marsh colleagues to match these with Marsh capabilities.
  • Understand strategic carriers’ business objectives and lead the development of custom solutions to address the carriers’ needs. Effectively present ideas to the carriers as required.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that strategic and tactical plans are developed in conjunction with strategic carriers. Ensure carrier activity scorecards are in place and actively monitored to compare performance against plan.
  • Be responsible for the negotiation and implementation of local ICA’s in Asia. Ensure proper governance and fee structures are implemented per country.
  • Utilize all data available to improve our analytical capabilities and to create more effective distribution strategies with strategic carriers.
  • Work to bring new opportunities and creative solutions to carriers that improves their business performance with Marsh.
  • Develop ICA target list for Asia and work with local ICG team to achieve.
  • Work with Mercer to develop and expand MMB ICG offering to continue growth of MMB ICG revenue.
  • Set and achieve/exceed annual revenue budget
  • Maintain an appropriate staffing plan for the region.
  • Actively engage with local internal business lines ensuring their strategies/priorities are understood and accurately represented to strategic carriers.
  • Work with local Marsh offices in the region to ensure they understand performance and reporting requirements under ICA’s. Work with them to improve effectiveness and early detection and solution of problem areas.
  • Ensure that detailed feedback is provided to the International ICG team on local carrier performance for global governance meetings as required.
  • Develop carrier briefing reports that are specific to the Region as required.

What you need to have:

  • 20+ years’ insurance industry experience with a broker or carrier.
  • Deep knowledge of Asia insurance sector and understanding of all major classes of business.
  • Strong relationship management skillset.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a book of business and lead a team.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, comfortable dealing with stakeholders to CEO level.
  • Strong analytical problem solving skills and experience around the use of data to manage and improve performance.
  • Smart, collaborative, relationship and outcome focused with the ability to make decisions where ambiguity exists.
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in the prioritization of competing work assignments, escalation of issues and the formulation of solutions.
  • Effective organization skills with key attention to detail and delivery of high quality documentation with the ability to implement/influence change.
  • Strong sense of business ethics and principles.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism, integrity and trust.
  • Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate technical matters to a non-technical audience.
  • Relevant qualifications to degree level are preferred.
